First Quarter Trips
- Our ministry returned to Fiji in Feb 2025 for the third time since Covid. So far in ROUND 2, we have spoken to 50,020 students in 109 schools (approximately 75% of the high school students in the entire nation). More about this in the center section.
- We had an opportunity to travel to Panama City, Panama to speak with to 60 youth and children’s pastors from six different countries on the importance of teaching children how well science supports the Bible. Mike Snavely (www.missionimperative.org) represented our ministry by speaking in four 90-minute teaching sessions during this event. During the third session, one attendee commented, “We have never heard this kind of information before!” and the Rich and Wanda Ferguson, who organized the conference, quipped, “We are going to steal your passports, so you have to stay and teach longer.”
- Christian student groups invited us to speak at both Eastern Michigan University (EMU) in Ypsilanti and Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) in Traverse City where students heard evidence for a Biblical creation and were given our books. The normal attendance at the monthly NMC meetings is less than 15 but we had 50 people attend! The student-run newspaper interviewed Bruce after the hour-long lecture and had a follow-up article in the school newspaper.
- Here is Cindy Hays’ report from the EMU event: “I was blessed by the opportunity to present the scientific evidence for creation at the first (and hopefully annual) “Faith and Science” event held at EMU. Of the three panelists, I was the only one defending a Biblical creation viewpoint. The other panelists’ presentations combined evolution and Christianity – utilizing a “God made us through evolution perspective.” It breaks my heart to know that evolution is the only viewpoint being allowed throughout American universities. Encircling a giant image of the DNA molecule in the marble floor of the main hallway at Notr Dame’s Jordon Science Building, is this quote from Theodosius Dobshansky, ‘Nothing in Biology makes sense except in the light of evolution.’ Perhaps for the first time, many students at EMU were exposed to the evidence showing how statements such as this are gross misrepresentations of the truth. I long for their hearts to be awakened to the fact that Jesus is both their Creator and Savior.”
Search for the Truth Expands
Below are brief biographies of our speakers. Contact us via our newly revised website (SearchfortheTruth.net) to book an event at your church.
Lucy Revisited
- A bowl-shaped pelvis in humans (for totally upright posture) vs. a significantly more flattened pelvis in primates (giving them a waddling movement when walking upright.)
- The large toe aligned with the other four toes in humans vs. a much shorter large toe (used for gripping) in primates.
- A solid arch structure in the human foot (designed for upright weight support) vs. a flexible midfoot in primates (allowing it to flex toward the ankle when climbing trees.)
- A human’s flattened knob-like structure of the knee on the large leg bone (the femur) is flattened along the base where it joins the lower leg bone (giving a larger surface area for supporting the entire body weight when walking upright) vs. the primate’s rounded knob-like structure (which puts more pressure on the smaller surface area because primates spend little time walking upright.)
March Fiji Trip Update
Our ministry feels absolutely blessed to return for the ninth time to Fiji spreading the truth about science and salvation. During this two-week trip we were able to speak in 29 schools reaching 9,700 students and teachers, visit a boy’s home, and preach at Solid Rock Baptist Church in Rakiraki. Each talk included a clear presentation of salvation. One of our team members reminded us that it can take a dozen times hearing the gospel before someone accepts Jesus as the Savior.
Several schools remembered us from prior years and had their students’ taking notes during our presentation. It was so exciting to see the students so actively engaged. Below are some of the comments that were heard:
- “We appreciate that highly educated people could bring the message in a simple way.”
- “Evolution goes against science; I can’t believe that it still has to be taught in schools.”
- “You have cleared up a lot of information that was confusing in science.”
- “Thank you for bringing God into our school today.”
- “Our year 13 students heard your presentation when they were in year 9. Those students have connected science and God and have a better understanding for how the two work together.”
We would like to share a God story with you. Chris and Tracy Lowes shared a two-bedroom flat with Fred Brashear. After breakfast there was a conversation about where to hide the one key, or who should take it since each team was heading to different schools. Fred decided he should take the key because his team should finish first that day. However, Team Chris finished first, so they headed to Team Fred’s location to pick up the key. When Chris arrived, they found Fred’s team rushing through their presentation in the small school library because they only had 50 minutes before school ended and there was another 100 students waiting for the science assembly downstairs. Because Chris’ team did not have a key, and they had come to the school to pick it up, Team Chris was able to slow down and finish the presentation in the school library while Team Fred was able to bring the full assembly to the other 100 students. Isn’t it amazing that God used something as small as a shared key to do His work.
Search for the Truth would like to send a special thank you to our guest speakers who came with us this year: Tim Chaffey from AIG, Brian & Michele Thomas from ICR, and Michael & Michelle Calcagno from Rocky Mountain Creation Fellowship. Without servants like this, our mission trips would not be possible.
With this trip we have completed the entire island of Viti Levu and will be moving to Vanua Levu in 2026.
